Bryan Limmer, D.M.D., M.S., has been appointed as interim assistant dean of clinical affairs and operations at the VCU School of Dentistry.
As interim assistant dean of clinical affairs and operations, Limmer will provide leadership and oversight of the school’s clinical operations while continuing to support its mission of exceptional patient care, learner success, operational excellence and innovation.
In his new role, he will work closely with Harmeet Chiang, D.D.S., M.S., director of clinical affairs, Donnie Parris, director of clinic operations and Sharon Lanning, D.D.S., vice dean and sr. associate dean for Academic Affairs.
"I sincerely appreciate Interim Dean Johnson giving me the opportunity to serve in this role and I look forward to contributing to both the student and patient experience in our clinical practices," said Limmer.
Most recently, Limmer served as interim chair of the Department of Prosthodontics. His previous leadership roles include director of the Division of Prosthodontics and director of undergraduate implant dentistry.
“Through his service to our school, Dr. Limmer has demonstrated a deep commitment to excellence in patient care, clinical education, innovation and collaborative leadership,” said Jeff Johnson, D.M.D., M.P.H., Ed.D., interim dean of VCU School of Dentistry. “He has played a key role in advancing digital dentistry initiatives and strengthening the integration of technology, education, and patient-centered care across our clinical enterprise. His appointment aligns perfectly with his role as president of VCU Dental Care.”
Limmer is a nationally recognized expert in restorative and implant dentistry. Before joining VCU in 2024, he served as Chief Operating Officer and clinical director of Stanbrick Dental Services, a multi-location, multi-specialty dental practice based in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He also previously owned and operated a private prosthodontic practice near Denver for more than seven years.
He earned his D.M.D. from Harvard in 2009 and completed a Master of Science and certificate in Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012, followed by a fellowship in implant dentistry at UNC.
