One year as Dean of VCU School of Dentistry

Today marks the end of my first year as Dean, having shared with all of you what is great about our VCU School of Dentistry. Thank you all for welcoming me and my family to VCU and Richmond.  And thank you all for your dedicated service to the school and this university.

I’ve learned much about this school and many of the secrets of its success. Many of those secrets lie within everyone who walks into the clinics, offices and laboratories each day. Some of our success depends on our grateful community of patients and still more of our success comes from the generosity of our alumni. From what I’ve seen, heard and experienced, I’m even more excited about the future of the school than when I arrived a year ago.

Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of countless Virginians. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you to improve access to oral health care, address sustainability of dental education and promote innovation while expanding oral health research.
